Dr. Gernita Lee, DNP, has dedicated her career to empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being. Her journey began in 2004 as a Certified Nurse Assistant, and her passion for nursing led her to earn her Associate's degree, followed by a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout her years as a Registered Nurse, Dr. Lee gained invaluable experience in diverse settings like oncology, acute care medicine, and cardiology.
Driven by a desire to provide even more comprehensive care, Dr. Lee pursued her Master's degree as an Adult Care Nurse Practitioner, specializing in areas such as cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, palliative care, pain management (narcotic cessation), aesthetics, podiatry, home health, virtual consultation, and holistic health. Her commitment to evidence-based practice ensured her patients received the highest quality care, leading to improved outcomes and reduced readmission rates.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Lee continued her education by earning her Doctorate in Nurse Practice in 2023. Her doctoral research focused on empowering patients through improved patient literacy, ultimately leading to better health decisions. This dedication to patient education reflects Dr. Lee's core belief: everyone deserves to actively participate in their healthcare journey.
